  • The strategy consultancy is further expanding its international footprint
  • 22 new Partners, six of which in Germany
  • More women: the group of new Partners includes five women

Munich, July 2012: Roland Berger Strategy Consultants is strengthening its presence on the international market and has appointed 22 new international Partners – including five women. Of the new group, six Partners are located in Germany. Besides the new inductees, five international Partners were promoted to Senior Partner.

"Appointing these 22 new Partners represents growth and further internationalization: We are expanding our global presence in Asia, the Middle East and North America to offer our clients even more added value," says Dr. Martin C. Wittig, CEO of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. "We are also pleased that more women are joining our Partner ranks."

The new Roland Berger Partners



Heiko Ammermann (37) joined Roland Berger in 2005 and is Partner in the Civil Economics, Energy & Infrastructure Competence Center in Frankfurt. He studied economics and computer science and has hands-on experience in politics. His professional experience is focused on the interface of the public and private sectors, i.e. in banking regulation and permitting and financing strategies for large infrastructure projects. Heiko Ammermann advises primarily energy companies, both public and private, in Europe and the Middle East on how to align commercial, political, technical and environmental elements.

Jérôme Barrué (40) joins Roland Berger as a Partner in the Financial Services Competence Center in Paris. After completing his European master's in management and Diplom Kaufmann at ESCP Europe, he started his professional career at the Société Génerale as Business Solution Developer in Cash Management. Before joining Roland Berger, he worked as Associate Financial Services at a leading audit, tax and advisory services provider and as Partner Financial Services at a global management consulting firm. Jérôme Barrué focuses his consulting activities on retail and business banking and is an expert in strategic marketing, multichannel distribution, payments and affluent banking.

Anne Bioulac (39) is Partner in the InfoCom and the Marketing & Sales Competence Centers at Roland Berger's Paris office. She worked at a leading management consulting firm before joining Roland Berger in 2006. In her 17-year career, she has focused on fixed and mobile communications, Internet services, TV channels and the press, advising a large number of companies in France, Poland, Kenya and Turkey. Anne Bioulac has in-depth expertise in marketing and sales, organization and performance optimization projects. She graduated from Telecom ParisTech, a telecom engineering school, in Paris (France).

Duarte Simões de Carvalho (40) joins Roland Berger as a Partner in the Financial Services Competence Center in São Paulo. He has broad experience in international management consulting and has been working for leading strategy consulting firms for over 17 years. He focus his consulting activities on financial services, venture capital and consumer goods, having broad experience in corporate strategy, market entry strategies, channel development, client-driven strategies, organizational restructuring and strategic sourcing. Duarte Simões de Carvalho holds a degree in business administration from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisbon (Portugal) and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

Jorge Delclaux (50) is Managing Partner in Roland Berger's Madrid office. He has over 25 years' experience in restructuring and corporate finance, particularly investment banking, asset management and private equity. After earning his economics and business administration degree at Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros (CUNEF)- Madrid, he started his career at the investment bank Morgan Grenfell. He was also director for corporate finance for UBS Phillips & Drew and Partner as well as Managing Director of Rothschild. Prior to joining Roland Berger, Jorge Delclaux served as vice chairman and CEO of the private equity firm Inversiones Ibersuizas.

Cyril Gay Belan (41) started as a new Partner in the Financial Services Competence Center in Paris. He comes from a leading international consultancy where he was head of the insurance practice for France and French-speaking countries for 6 years. Cyril Gay Belan has a solid focus on the financial services sector with many years of international experience, having worked for the insurance group Groupama in France as well as for a leading global insurance broker company in Hong Kong and Spain. Cyril Gay Belan holds a BA from Dauphin University in Paris (France) and an MBA from Georgetown University in Washington (USA).

Maren Hauptmann (39) is a new Partner in the Corporate Performance Competence Center of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. She has worked in Roland Berger's Munich office for 13 years and is an expert on HR issues such as strategic talent management, functional HR excellence, change management and corporate culture. Maren Hauptmann supports a number of global companies across various industries in developing and sourcing crucial talent and in finding the right organizational setup for the human resources function. She studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth (Germany).

Marcus Hoffmann (41) is a Partner in Roland Berger's Automotive Competence Center. He has been working in the company's offices in Munich and Shanghai since 2007, focusing his consulting activities on sales and marketing strategies, operational performance, integrated efficiency, business strategy, corporate excellence and restructuring. He has managed consulting projects in Germany, France, Italy, the US, Russia and China. Before joining Roland Berger, he worked for a leading consultancy. Marcus Hoffmann holds a Ph.D. and master's degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Aachen (Germany) and a master's in management engineering from the University of Hagen (Germany).

Morris Hosseini (43) started working for Roland Berger in 2000 and is now Partner in the Pharma & Healthcare Competence Center in Berlin. He advises global clients on commercial strategies, market access, medical affairs, marketing & sales, operations excellence, research and development as well as organizational effectiveness. Prior to joining Roland Berger, Morris Hosseini worked as a researcher in regenerative medicine and co-founded a biotech company in Canada. He holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the University of Toronto (Canada).

Feng Ke (37) started working for Roland Berger in 2010 and is now Partner in the Transportation & Logistics Competence Center in Shanghai. He is an expert in aviation, logistics, aerospace and defense as well as in strategy, organization, operational improvement and restructuring. Prior to joining Roland Berger, he worked at a leading Chinese airline for 6 years as an assistant to the chairman. In his consulting career, he has served many leading global and Chinese clients in transportation and logistics, private equity, consumer electronics, steel and chemicals. Feng Ke holds an MBA from the China Europe International Business School in Shanghai (China).

Zun-Gon Kim (38) rejoins Roland Berger as Partner in the Pharma & Healthcare Competence Center in Munich after several years in the healthcare practice at a global consulting firm. Zun-Gon Kim started his career as a physician and first joined our company in 2004. He focuses on growth and value creation strategies, operational excellence, organizational efficiency, process optimization, due diligence and sourcing. He studied medicine at the universities of Frankfurt (Germany), Berne and Zurich (Switzerland) and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School (UK) and Mannheim Business School (Germany).

Damien Ko (41) is Partner in the Financial Services Competence Center of Roland Berger in Hong Kong and New York. He also has extensive experience in consumer goods & retail and private equity sectors. His consulting activities focus on corporate strategy, M&A, corporate development, business model and operational efficiency. Before joining Roland Berger, he was Head of Corporate Development and PE Practice in Greater China for a global management consultancy. He has also worked with Citigroup, UBS, SG and Lehman Brothers. Damien Ko holds an MBA from Harvard University, a master's in finance from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a BBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Alexander Lesch (43) is a new Partner in the global Civil Economics, Energy & Infrastructure Competence Center at Roland Berger's office in Düsseldorf. He has more than 10 years of industry and consulting experience in the energy sector and specializes in advising utilities and gas companies on corporate strategy, operational excellence, post-merger integration and value management. Before joining Roland Berger, Alexander Lesch worked for the German energy group E.ON Ruhrgas AG. He studied business administration at the Universities of Cologne (Germany) and New York (USA).

Safia Limousin (39) is a new Partner in the Utilities and Operations Strategy Competence Center in Paris. She started working for Roland Berger in 2001 and has 17 years of experience in consulting and industry, 15 of them in the energy sector. She carries out strategy and performance improvement projects for major energy players. She is also involved in HR strategy to optimize companies' performance. She holds an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique Feminine in France.

Bruce Liu (41) joins Roland Berger as a Partner in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Competence Center in Shanghai. He has over 12 years of experience in strategic consulting in the healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and chemicals industries. Bruce Liu focuses on growth strategy, portfolio strategy, marketing and sales excellence, as well as M&A and innovation. He has also been advising government organizations on policy development and industry cluster planning and has been working with leading investment and private equity firms to assess investment opportunities in Asia and China's life sciences and healthcare sectors. Bruce holds a master's in molecular biology from the University of Rochester (USA) and a master's in genetics from Fudan University (China). He completed his MBA at the University of Chicago (USA).

Andrea Marinoni (40) is a Partner in the Corporate Performance and Corporate Finance practice at Roland Berger's Milan office. He joined the company in 1998 and focuses his consulting activities on corporate strategy, restructuring, performance improvement and turnaround implementation. He advises both major international companies and the mid-cap cluster, leveraging his experience in the manufacturing sector. He is also an expert in corporate finance, supporting both financial and industrial investors in their relevant lifecycle steps. He studied business at Bocconi University of Milan (Italy).

Francesco M. Pavoni (44) rejoins Roland Berger as a Senior Partner in the Financial Services Competence Center in Istanbul and Bahrain. He joined the company in 2000 and worked as a senior manager for 3 years. He started his career at Mercedes Benz Italy as strategy analyst and has broad experience as partner and managing director at leading global management consulting firms for almost 10 years. He focuses his consultant activities on the financial services, banking and insurance sectors as well as pharma and telecommunications. He is an expert in private equity deals, market entry strategies, organization and post-merger integration. Francesco M. Pavoni holds an MBA from the University of California in Berkeley (USA) and an economics degree from the University of Rome (Italy).

Joyce Peng (40) is a new Partner in Roland Berger's office in Beijing, focusing on financial services. Before joining Roland Berger in 2010, she worked with a global strategy consultancy in Beijing and Shanghai. Joyce Peng also worked 6 years at the Bank of China, supporting its restructuring and IPO in Hong Kong. She is an expert for strategy design and implementation, corporate governance, organization and process design, cost control and strategic purchasing. Joyce Peng holds an MBA from the London Business School (UK) and a Master of Science degree from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (China).

Jérôme Rein (40) joined Roland Berger in 2008 and is now Partner in the Engineered Products and High Tech Competence Center at the Paris office. Prior to joining Roland Berger, he worked for two global management consulting firms. Jérôme Rein has over 17 years of management consulting experience, with a focus on improvement and business transformation projects in several industrial sectors. In 2004, he started up his own consulting firm that focused on strategic change projects in the aerospace & defense industry. Jérôme Rein graduated from Ponts & Chaussées Engineering Grande Ecole and ESSEC Business School in Paris (France).

Jaime Rodriguez-Ramos Fernandez (34) is a new Partner in the InfoCom Competence Center in Madrid. A telecom and media specialist, he has over 11 years of experience at one of the largest management consulting firms. Jaime Rodriguez-Ramos Fernandez focuses his consulting activities on digital transformation, B2B and small and medium-sized businesses. He has also advised customers from the healthcare and retail sectors. He earned his degree in electrical engineering at the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid (Spain) and holds an MBA in international and public management from Stanford University (USA).

Thomas F. Wendt (38) is a new Partner in Roland Berger's Chicago office. He is part of the firm's global automotive practice and heads the automotive supplier business in North America. Before joining Roland Berger, he worked for a global consulting firm as vice president and held several positions in the automotive industry. He has extensive experience in business strategy development, corporate finance and restructuring as well as in automotive retailing. Thomas F. Wendt holds master's degrees in business administration (MBA) and mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany).

Fanny Zhang (36) is a new Partner in the Transportation and Energy Competence Center, based in Roland Berger's Beijing office. She has 13 years' consulting experience spanning various industries and specializes in transportation and energy. She is an expert on aviation, logistics and shipping topics in the transportation sector. In the energy industry, she focuses on coal, oil & gas, utility and chemical issues. She has profound expertise in advising large state-owned enterprises in a broad range of functional areas, including strategy, organization and operations. Fanny Zhang holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Peking University (China).

Partners promoted to Senior Partner



Matthew Chang (43) joined Roland Berger's Shanghai Office in 2010 as Partner and Head of the Healthcare and Operations Practice for Greater China. Before coming to Roland Berger, he held several management positions at leading international consultancies for over 10 years in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Frankfurt. He was also Director of Strategy for Asia Pacific and Executive Council member for Greater China for the consumer goods group Diageo. Matthew Chang holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from the United States and an MBA degree from Switzerland.

Norbert Dressler (40) has been with the Automotive Competence Center of Roland Berger in Stuttgart since 2001, becoming Partner in 2009. Before joining Roland Berger, Norbert Dressler worked for a leading international management consultancy and in industry. Within the Automotive Competence Center, he is responsible for the global "Commercial vehicles, agricultural and construction vehicles" business. His functional expertise encompasses topics involving strategy development, engineering, purchasing and efficiency improvement. Norbert Dressler studied business administration at the University of Pforzheim (Germany).

Laurent Dusollier (43) has been working for the Roland Berger Paris office since 2002. He started his career at Procter and Gamble before joining Roland Berger in Brussels in 1998. As a specialist in the consumer goods and retail sector, Laurent Dusollier deals with issues related to growth strategy, innovation, performance optimization, cost reduction and organization. He is also involved in developing Roland Berger's business activities in sales & marketing. Laurent Dusollier holds a degree in business engineering from Solvay Brussels School (Belgium).

Manfred Hader (47) is Senior Partner in Roland Berger's Hamburg office, working for the Engineered Products & High Tech (EPHT) Competence Center. Since joining Roland Berger in 1998, he has worked in the Hamburg and Paris offices, focusing on the aerospace & defense, energy and environmental services industries. Prior to joining Roland Berger, Manfred Hader worked in industry for nine years and held various management positions in marketing and business development. He studied business administration in Wiesbaden (Germany), Phoenix (USA), London (UK) and Tokyo (Japan).

Pierre Reboul (44) is Senior Partner in the Financial Services Competence Center of Roland Berger in Paris and co-leads the Global Corporate & Investment Banking practice. Before joining Roland Berger in 2008, he was a partner at a management consultancy where he was in charge of the financial markets & risk practice for Europe. As a specialist in investment banking and asset management, he is responsible for many projects designed to optimize operating performance, enhance sales effectiveness and risk management. Pierre Reboul holds degrees from the Grenoble Institute of Technology (France) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA).
