Summer Associate Intern

Current MBA students can experience consulting through our comprehensive summer internship program. A successful candidate will spend the summer working alongside top consultants on challenging client issues, partnering with colleagues to develop intellectual capital and delivering strong solutions to add value to our clients. They will also benefit from our tailored mentorship program during the course of their internship. Junior Consultant

At Roland Berger, a Junior Consultant is a fully-fledged consultant and member of a project team right from day one. Your tasks will be:

  • Working on individual project assignments
  • Doing research and conducting interviews (usually at operational level)
  • Preparing and participating in workshops
  • Performing market and data analysis
  • Preparing presentations

You will take part in a wide variety of projects, each of which will last from three to six months on average. Your aim is to advance as quickly as possible to the rank of Consultant.

Consultant

Consultants at Roland Berger make a valuable contribution to project teamwork right from the outset. Your tasks will be:

  • Responsibility for a project module
  • Doing research and conducting interviews (usually at managerial level)
  • Preparing and participating in workshops
  • Performing market and data analysis
  • Preparing presentations

You will be involved in a wide range of different projects, each of which will last from three to six months on average. Your aim is to advance as quickly as possible to the rank of Senior Consultant.

Senior Consultant

As a Senior Consultant, you will be a key figure within our organization. You are the person who will deliver "Creative strategies that work" to our clients. Your standard assignments will include:

  • Responsibility for one or more project modules or smaller projects
  • Direct contact with the client at managerial level
  • Project management in relation to clients and colleagues
  • Preparing and delivering presentations
  • Contributing to acquisition strategies

Your work will cover a very broad spectrum of projects, depending on your experience and preferences. A mentor (one of our Partners or Principals) will supervise your progress in the direction of Project Manager.

Project Manager

Project Managers assume a very important role. They are pivotal to every project and the central point of contact for our clients. Their responsibilities include structuring the project process, overseeing project outcomes and budgets, reporting on the project status to the appropriate Partner, developing acquisition strategies and handling operational team management. Project Managers normally possess a wealth of industry and/or functional expertise. A mentor (a Partner or Principal) will supervise your progress in the direction of Principal.

Principal

By now you are increasingly developing your acquisition potential. You also shoulder operational management responsibility for large and complex projects. Having repeatedly distinguished yourself in many projects, you are a seasoned expert.

Personnel management and personnel development are likewise part of your remit.

Partner

As a Partner and co-owner, you will have a direct influence on the company. You will bear responsibility for a specific field of expertise and for your client base.

In collaboration with your Principals, you will also be responsible for acquisition and the outcome of various projects. At the same time, you will lead and mentor younger colleagues. You will represent your area of expertise both inside and outside the company.
